Role Purpose Statement

The Ground Operations Dispatcher ensures the safe, efficient, and timely coordination of catering services between LSG Sky Chefs, airline partners, and airport operations. This role is responsible for dispatching and monitoring catering vehicles, maintaining accurate flight schedules, and serving as the central point of communication between ramp operations, drivers, and airline representatives. By proactively managing resources, solving operational challenges, and prioritizing on-time performance, the Ground Operations Dispatcher plays a critical role in supporting flight readiness, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Main Accountabilities

• Oversee the staging and loading of airline galleys, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and readiness for flight schedules.

• Direct and support loading teams, providing assistance during time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.

• Coordinate closely with supervisors and controllers on flight assignments, last-minute changes, and equipment adjustments.

• Verify galley contents, cover missing items, and ensure all catering and equipment meet service standards before departure.

• Monitor dock and cooler areas, addressing any items left behind and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

• Support special requests including extra flight sections, charters, late-night services, and VIP deliveries.

• Maintain accurate records such as temperature logs, equipment checks, and staffing requirements.

• Assist with shift planning by reporting manpower needs and covering sick calls to ensure adequate coverage.

• Ensure on-time dock departures in coordination with dispatch teams, contributing directly to flight readiness and customer satisfaction.

• Uphold high standards of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency across the dock, ramp, and truck loading operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in ground operations, dispatching, logistics, or airline/aviation support (preferred)

• Knowledge of airport safety, security, and ramp procedures (HACCP/airline catering experience a plus)

• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

• Effective communication skills to coordinate with drivers, ramp staff, and airline representatives

• Problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, sound decisions under pressure

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications; familiarity with dispatching or scheduling systems preferred

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment

• Service-oriented mindset with strong attention to accuracy and detail

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by flight schedules

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to meet airport security clearance requirements
